Today is Tuesday, December 6, 2016.
It has been well over 3 weeks since we arrived here in Mobile, AL. We had planned to have some routine maintenance done on Salt Lick while here for a few weeks. Alas — those things did NOT get accomplished. We DID get a battery/charging system replaced along with installation of a water/pressure hose for the engine and a thing called an impeller!
Plans to travel to New Orleans have had to be scrapped — much to my great sadness. The weather fairies are up to NO GOOD , as we have had tornado watches and high winds and rains. What can I say —- this is a boat! 🙂 🙂
Back to sharing some happy moments. We have not just been staring at each other in this very small space for the past month. HA We went to Houston, TX for Thanksgiving. Had a lovely time seeing daughter Katey and her beau, Robert. Also enjoyed dinner out with Robert’s parents, Joe and Marie, that following Sat..
Hank stayed in Texas for a week of work while yours truly headed to the Gulf Shores area of Alabama ( across Mobile Bay from where Salt Lick is docked) to meet up with childhood gal pals. Laughter, tears, walks, talks, hugs, dinners, snacks, sleep, —–repeat all the above for 4 days!!! Then leave and collapse on one’s own sofa for at least 2 days. Don’t you just LOVE LIFE????
Some of these “chickies” have known each other since kindergarden!!!! We like to believe that we are still the coolest dollies around – even with the physical signs of aging!! As Lucketa, who has since died, would say “CHICKENS ARE HOT”!
Meanwhile , back on Salt Lick, Felicia comes by to visit on a regular basis. Great dock cat! Likes to make herself at home.
TOMORROW WE HOPE TO SAY ADIOS TO DOG RIVER MARINA. FLORIDA HERE WE COME.
